“Woman with Babe on Bed” by Jurgen Schadeberg
Jurgen Schadeberg is one of South Africa’s most famous photographers, the creative force behind many of the most powerful images of the apartheid era. He’s now working with CALS on a book documenting the plight of the working poor in Joburg’s inner city.
I believe this image is from the San Jose building I visited two weeks ago. But it could just as easily be from Coronia Gardens, where residents are now fighting in court to get their water reconnected.

That picture reminds me so much of one I took in Guatamala back in 1972. So much need across the world. Glad that you are there to help.
